FAQ:
22 minute Games – continuous play, we can run 3 games in an hour and 10 minutes at a time, round robin format
Kick off and drop kicks allowed; No kick for touch or penalty kick for touch – touch and go
Running clock
We will have an on deck area next to the field for teams to stage and take the field when the preceding game completes to keep continuity
1. what happens if somebody kicks for touch during the match? Anything
different with regard to the 22meter line and whether the ball bounces
in first before going out? >>> we will try to remind the players not to kick for touch, however, if it happens, then we can do a lineout
2. no half time right? >>> no halftime, we will play 22 minute running periods and have the next two teams ready to play as soon as the horn blows.
3. free substitutions right? >>> yes, within reason as long as the subs do not disrupt the play to much
4. after a try, since there is no conversion, the team who was scored
upon can take it up and start the action again from midfield correct? >>> that is correct, fast play, no delay, the teams need to get moving quickly, so a team kicking can use their speed and readiness to try to kick to an undefended part of the field past 10 meters and try to gain control of the ball.
5. for Saturday the 1st, did you find out at time for start? >>> 9am start to 3pm finish
6. In the games, there will be no kicking for goal or conversions? Are
drop kicks allowed for points during the action? >>> No kicking for goals conversion or touch; yes — drop kicks are valid
7. can we bring a couple of tents to set up “camp” for the day? >>> Yes, we have a staging area for tents; I will create a mockup for all coaches and teams to locate an area and camp for the day
8. will you be selling/serving food? >>> All players, coaches, and referees will eat for free (I sponsor the food); food for parents and supports and kids for sell — I will make sure the price is nominal – burger, dogs, chips, sodas, sport drinks, slim jims, etc; There are several food outlets on Rosemont Avenue too

USA Rugby Goals
by on Apr.22, 2010, under Coaches
Greetings –
As part of USA Rugby’s goal of 100% compliance, attached please find the first compliance report of 2010.
This report shows three important compliance issues: Clubs that aren’t registered for 2009-2010, Clubs that do not have 15 members on their public roster, and Clubs that do no have a Coach on their public roster. Column E of the spreadsheet shows exactly what is needed for each club, i.e., CLUB registration, PLAYER/S registration, and/or COACH registration. The attached report is sorted by LAU Name, then by Club Name. Contact information for each club is included, where it exists.
If you know that a Club in your LAU is competing in current competitions, but doesn’t have players, coach or club registered, please send them a reminder about registration requirements immediately.
Additionally, this shall serve as a reminder that players, club and coaches must be registered prior to ANY participation — this includes all forms of training and competition. Please note that the attached report shows clubs with 15 or less players. While 15 is the minimum number of players required to request a Certificate of Insurance, ALL active players and coaches are required to be registered. It is not acceptable to register only a minimum of 15, leaving other active participants unregistered. The only way USA Rugby can guarantee liability insurance coverage in the event of an incident is if all active Clubs, players & coaches are registered. Please see USA Rugby’s Liability Insurance FAQ with any additional questions: www.usarugby. org/goto/ liability_ insurance.
Registration Links:
Individual Coach & Player Registration: https://membership. usarugby. org/IndividualDe fault.aspx
Club Registration: https://membership. usarugby. org/SelectClub. aspx
Dual Role Registration Form (for coaches that need to ADD a coach role to an existing paid registration) : http://www.usarugby .org/information /default. asp?NavPageID= 65812
Club Public Rosters: https://membership. usarugby. org/PublicRoster Rpt.aspx
General Membership: www.usarugby. org/goto/ membership
Please note the following important considerations:
1. COACH registration can be completed immediately by using the online registration system. It is extremely important for you to be affiliated properly for your own protection as a coach. Note that the $5M liability insurance coverage is only guaranteed to cover you if you are properly registered and affiliated in association with your coaching efforts for a specific club. For individuals that have NO active, paid registration for the current competition season, registration can be completed by following this link: https://membership. usarugby. org/IndividualDe fault.aspx
Please note that USA Rugby does require that each club must have an active coach affiliated, and that all active coaches be registered with USA Rugby for the current competition season. We will be contacting the Clubs listed in this report individually, but we also request your assistance in this effort, as you are likely to have much closer contact with each of these clubs and individuals. Please feel free to forward this email and/or attachments to any interested parties.
2. DUAL ROLE REGISTRATION — Please note that an individual may have more than one role on the same or multiple clubs, without paying additional dues. For instance, if an individual has ALREADY paid for USA Rugby registration as a coach, player, referee or exec/admin since August 14, 2009, he/she does not need to repay. An individual with an existing paid, active role may add additional coach affiliations at no additional charge by completing the dual role registration form, located at: http://www.usarugby .org/information /default. asp?NavPageID= 65812
3. The PRIMARY CONTACT role is not the same as an active coach role. This is an unpaid role affiliated with the club for administrative purposes only. If an individual is ONLY listed as the primary contact, with no other paid roles, he/she must register immediately and affiliate as the coach for the appropriate club. This can be completed at https://membership. usarugby. org/IndividualDe fault.aspx
The attached report was compiled on February 27, 2010. If you detect an error in this report or are unsure why a club has appeared on this compliance report, please contact a member of the USA Rugby Membership Department directly so that we can remedy the information in the database immediately.

Kristin Richeimer (303-539-0300 x103, kricheimer@usarugby .org) – Please note that Kristin will be out of the office until at least Monday, March 15th.
Please feel free to contact me if you need additional information, or would like any additional, or more detailed reports. Thank you for your efforts, best wishes for the current competitive season!
Yours in rugby,
