The <a href=\"https:\/\/acrobat.adobe.com\/id\/urn:aaid:sc:US:9037e560-b2f7-44b0-807c-a91bf138470a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>new park design<\/strong><\/a> includes all these ideas and more.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Partnership is working with the City of Frederick, the Ausherman Family Foundation and the African American Resources Cultural Heritage Society of Frederick County (the AARCH Society) to significantly improve the park. The City of Frederick has committed to fund the refurbishment of the historic fountain as well as crosswalk improvements. The Foundation is matching the City investment dollar for dollar by funding necessary design\/construction documents as well as a portion of the capital costs of implementing the park space redesign. Additional funding support is provided by the State of Maryland, the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek, the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, the Maryland State Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts, Visit Frederick and Frederick Health Hospital.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The AARCH Society and the Partnership are working together with the support of the other partners and have hired an experienced professional artist, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rodneycarroll.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>Rodney Carroll<\/strong><\/a>, to create and install a freestanding contemporary sculpture in the park. The new artwork will provide an opportunity to recognize our shared humanity, honor the highest within us and call us all to the work of creating a more sustainable community.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-citadela-blocks-custom-container citadela-block-custom-container size-wide bg-type-none inside-space-none\"><div class=\"inner-holder\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-152d45af38541cf9d872ef9b501c8ba8\" style=\"color:#7a7470\"><strong>Park Implementation Timeline<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, the construction documents are being finalized. The artwork has approval from the City Public Art Commission, Parks &amp; Recreation Commission and the Historic Preservation Commission.
